Course Offerings & Descriptions:

THEATRE 1:

In this course, students will delve into the captivating world of Theatre Arts, learning about various aspects such as acting, stage design, and behind-the-scenes production. Through hands-on activities and group projects, students will develop their creativity, collaboration, and communication skills. By studying famous playwrights and theatrical performances, students will gain a deep understanding and appreciation of the art of Theatre.

(No Audition or Experience Required)

THEATRE 2

This course is designed to expand upon the students prior Theatre knowledge and expertise in the areas of original works of theatre, design and production. Students will further their skill set and have more opportunities to display their performances throughout the year.

(Prior Theatre Experience Suggested)

THEATRE 3 Honors

The advanced level of Theatre at LHHS where students focus on specific areas of expertise. Each student will work to be fine tuning their craft in preparation for post-secondary excellence in the area of Theatre Arts. A large focus is placed on independent student guided research, design, and creation throughout the year. All students will produce original works of Theatre within each school year.

TECHNICAL THEATRE

Through project-based learning, students will learn the theatrical design and technical practices that apply to scenery, lighting, sound, costumes, make up, properties and scene painting.
